We have a `client_request` fixture which does a bunch of useful stuff
like:
- checking the status code of the response
- returning a `BeautifulSoup` object
For most tests of a platform admin view we used `platform_admin_client`
instead. This is not as good because it returns a raw `Response` object
and doesn’t do the additional checks.
This commit converts all the tests using `platform_admin_client` to:
use new `client_request` and log in as `platform_admin_user` before
making any requests.
This is also nice because it makes any test easy to parametrize with
additional users, for example to test differences in behaviour dependant
on being platform admin or not.
To render text in an SVG consistently the system rendering the SVG must
have the fonts specified by the SVG installed.
If the fonts are not installed then the renderer will fall back to a
system font and the text will look different. This is especially bad
news for branding where the right font is an integral part of any brand.
To fix this, the text should instead be converted to `<path>` elements.
This process is sometimes called ‘outlining’.
A few of our logos had this problem, and I’ve fixed most of them by
hand. Adding this validation will stop the problem, coming up again.
I prefer to avoid `assert_not_called`, because if I make a typo like
this, the tests will still pass:
```
app.invite_api_client.create_invite.asset_not_called()
```
It’s harder to have a false positive with the statement written this
way:
```
assert app.invite_api_client.create_invite.called is False
```
We had 7 classes in _grids.scss named `.column-...` which were being
used to give a certain column width. These worked by using `@include
grid column()`, which is now deprecated.
`.column-whole` and `.column-three-quarters` can be removed and replaced
with `govuk-grid-column-full` and `govuk-grid-column-three-quarters`
respectively. The other column classes don't have a direct replacment in
GOV.UK Frontend. To get round this, we overwrite the `$govuk-grid-width`
SASS map in `extensions.scss` to add in extra widths, then use this with
the `govuk-grid-column` mixin to create new classes in for our custom
widths in `_grids.scss`
We mostly rely on the API returning a 404 to generate 404s for trying
to get things with non-UUID IDs. This is fine, except our tests often
mock these API calls. So it could look like everything is working fine,
except the thing your passing in might never be a valid UUID, and thus
would 404 in a non-test environment.
So this commit:
1. uses the `uuid` URL converter everywhere there’s something that looks
like an ID in a URL parameter
2. adds a test which automates checking for 1.
of course it's logged in, it's a platform admin
also, reduce use of the `client` fixture in test_platform_admin
(replace it with platform_admin_client)
We’re deprecating storing the domain as text on a branding in favour of
a database relationship between branding and organisation.
We need to do this now in order to remove the validation on these fields
(which depends on the data in `domains.yml`)
This works in a similar way to the create_letter_branding view function,
but with a few minor differences:
* Since we already have a file, uploading a file is no longer required
(since we can just use the current file if a new one is not uploaded)
* We save the changes in the database, then upload the new files to S3.
If saving to S3 raises an error, we now rollback the database changes to
prevent any errors when trying to view letters with the original logo.
This is a platform admin page which lists all letter brands and their
domain. Once the page to edit a letter brand has been created, each
brand will link to its edit page, but for now this is just a list of
brand names and domains.
Form errors were being shown (such as a domain not being a valid), but
we weren't showing nicely formatted error messages if the database
failed to save a new row.
This has a form with 3 fields - the file upload field, logo name, and an
optional logo domain. Logos need to be uploaded in `.svg` format and we
then convert this to `.png` format and upload both file types to S3 as
well as saving the letter branding details in the database.
