We have a `client_request` fixture which does a bunch of useful stuff
like:
- checking the status code of the response
- returning a `BeautifulSoup` object
Lots of our tests still use an older fixture called `logged_in_client`.
This is not as good because:
- it returns a raw `Response` object
- doesn’t do the additional checks
- means our tests contain a lot of repetetive boilerplate like `page = BeautifulSoup(response.data.decode('utf-8'), 'html.parser')`
This commit converts all the tests using `logged_in_client` to:
use `client_request` instead.
This updates the `get_notifications_for_service` of the
`NotificationApiClient` to make POST request to the api when the `to`
field is provided. This is done so that we avoid logging personal
details such as email addreses.
If the `to` field is not present, the method will make a GET reqeust and
there will be no change to how it works.
Now persisting the address to the "to" field of the Notification, after the notification has been validated.
If the letter is pending validation, then "Checking..." will appear as the identifier for the letter.
If the letter has passed validation, then the first line of the address (now persisted in the "to" field) will be displayed, with the client reference underneath.
If the letter has failed validation the "Provided as PDF" will show be displayed, which is now the initial value of the "to" field.
We hardcode this as second class for the moment but eventually
will let the user pick.
Currently the API appears to do no validation, e.g. a json
schema, that rejects API calls with the extra key for postage.
Next steps will be to put a PR into the API that will expect a
postage value in the request and save it with the rest of the
notification. Then when that is done we can add the user interface
to the admin app to let the user pick the postage.
Added a send button which only appears on the page if the query string
indicates that the PDF is valid. Before actually sending, we check that
the service has the right permissions and that the metadata for the
letter confirms the letter is valid (because the query string can be
changed).
The data flow of other bits of our application looks like this:

The user API client was architected weirdly, in that it returned a model
directly, like this:

This mixing of different layers of the application is bad because it
makes it hard to write model code that doesn’t have circular
dependencies. As our application gets more complicated we will be
relying more on models to manage this complexity, so we should make it
easy, not hard to write them.
It also means that most of our mocking was of the User model, not just
the underlying JSON. So it would have been easy to introduce subtle bugs
to the user model, because it wasn’t being comprehensively tested. A lot
of the changed lines of code in this commit mean changing the tests to
mock only the JSON, which means that the model layer gets implicitly
tested.
For those reasons this commit changes the user API client to return
JSON, not an instance of `User` or other models.
we were seeing isort produce different outputs locally and in docker -
this was due to it having different opinions about whether the tests
module (ie all our unit tests) is a first party (local) or third party
(pip installed) import. It's a first party import, so by defining this
in the setup.cfg isort settings, we can force it to be consistent
between environments.
Note: I don't know why it was different in the first place though

Adds linting to the `run_tests.sh` script to stop badly-sorted imports
getting re-introduced.
Chosen style is ‘Vertical Hanging Indent’ with trailing commas, because
I think it gives the cleanest diffs, eg:

The GDS Way™[1] recommends using Flake8 to lint Python projects.
This commit takes the Flake8 config from Digital Marketplace API[2] and
removes the bits we don’t need.
It changes the `max_complexity` setting to 14, which is the most complex
code we have in this repo currently (we shouldn’t be writing code _more_
complex than what we already have).
This commit also fixes the errors found by Flake8, which includes 6(!)
tests which were never getting run because they had the same names as
existing tests.

We want to show a log of notifications that have been sent from the API.
The admin app uses its own private `/service/…/notifications` endpoint
for listing activity. This commit allows us to pass through two
optional, additional parameters to tell the API to:
- include or not include notifications created from a job
- include or not include notifications created with a test API key
